‘Cause I asked. Yea, I didn’t miss that attitude that’s for damn sure.
Oddly enough I did miss your grumpiness.
So did ya miss me or not?
Why should I tell you? I might keep you waiting for an answer just for the amusement I’ll feel from seeing you slightly annoyed.
If that was the case you’d already be dead sweetheart. Nice try though, points for effort.
And yet I could say the same thing for you.
Yea, almost. Heh for all you know I mighta met a few more vampires while you were gone and got me a new favorite. ‘Sides I know ya missed me. I’m you’re favorite hunter.
Ooooh… for all you know I might’ve met a few more hunters while I was gone and got me a new favorite, too. Two can play the same game, Winchester.
Well, well look what the cat dragged in. It’s been so long I almost missed you Kitty.
Almost, huh? If you say so, I’m not buying it though. We all know that I am the only vampire you tolerate and also your favorite vampire.
The fact that nothing has changed while I was away amuses me for some odd reason.
Once Dean decided what he wanted he lifted his gaze looking at the woman across from him over the menu. One eyebrow quirked in amusement at her words, he was fully intending on trying to at least track this vampire tonight. Clearly Katherine liked to take her time on things were he’d rather get straight to the point. “I didn’t say you hadto come with me. Besides you’re the one that’s taking your sweet time tellin’ me what it is you want help with.”
As the waitress came back to the table bringing their drinks he handed over his menu as the vampire gave her order and he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. When the young woman turned towards him pen in hand with a cheerful smile holding her lips the hunter gave his order as well. “I’ll take the bacon cheeseburger, side a curly fries, an a slice of that apple pie you got over there.” He pointed toward a dessert case near the kitchen and flashed her a charming grin before she gathered up their menus and took off towards the kitchen.
Once they were alone again Dean grabbed his beer taking a drink from it while he listened to Katherine speak. Just as he had earlier suspected she wanted to wait. Slowly he was becoming annoyed with her, huffing a breath in frustration he narrowed his eyes slightly at the woman. “You’ve been playing this game for a few days now. I ain’t gonna let you string me a long. I got no problem with ganking this vamp then gettin’ outta dodge. I got a life ya know? I can’t stay here forever until you decide you’re ready t’ tell me what’s goin’ on.” Sitting back against the booth he took another drink from his beer shaking his head while trying to calm himself. At her last statement of telling him back at the motel he simply shrugged in response while glancing around the bar to pass time.
It seemed like they would have the little conversation about Katherine’s problem here whether she liked it or not, she didn’t know why she was so wary about it considering that Klaus right now was way too busy with his plans of creating an army of hybrids. “Really? Seems like someone needs a reminder here, I couldn’t tell you earlier because I was helping you with your case and I’ll still help you.” She replied to the comment he made a few seconds ago, rolling her eyes slightly before focusing her gaze on him.
"Fine. I’ll give you some details now." She finally decided to start talking about it, sighing softly before she started to talk again. "You already know that in this town we have witches, vampires and werewolves. What I didn’t tell you is that there are creatures that are half vampire and half werewolf, hybrids. I want you to help me to kill the one who is making them, he’s creating an army of hybrids as we speak." For now that bit of information was enough, she knew that if she gave him more information he’d start to work in that case and try to kill him with a bad elaborated plan which would end up getting Dean killed. "Satisfied for now?"
The hunter chuckled at her comment while he continued to drive, he made the turn heading towards the Grill since that seemed to be the only place in town that was worthwhile to eat at. “Alright, then we’ll go there.” They sat in silence for the remainder of the drive while music played softly in the background. Dean thought about what she had said earlier about the vampire and the possibility of it being a newborn, that would probably make things a lot easier for them as far as tracking it down.
Oddly enough Dean didn’t want to think about the case right now, he couldn’t focus on anything but the rumbling in his stomach. After a few more minutes of driving they pulled into the lot of the restaurant finding a space to park. The hunter looked over at the brunette next to him and winked before he slid out of the car waiting for her to follow. They walked into the building and he cleared his throat half expecting a few pairs of eyes on him but nobody payed him any mind, most of the people were looking at Katherine and a few even waved at her. That made him chuckle lightly under his breath.
A waitress greeted them and ushered them towards a free booth handing them menus and taking their drink orders. Dean ordered a beer and thanked the young women before turning his attention towards the menu. Once he decided what he wanted he raised his emerald hues to meet the mocha ones of the woman across from him arching a brow. “You don’t have t’ eat if you don’t wanna. I mean uh thanks for comin’ anyways. I figure after this we can get to work. That ok with you?”
The rest of the trip towards the Grill was in silence except for the music that played softly though it didn’t take long for them to be right in front of the famous bar of Mystic Falls and in just a few seconds they found a space to park. A soft smirk appeared on the vampire’s features caused by the wink of the hunter before getting out of the car, she followed him immediately. Katherine had to wave and smile back to everyone that knew Elena, she didn’t ignore them because of the whole wanting to keep a low profile thing while she was in town, the only ones who knew that she was here were the whole group of the Salvatore brothers.
The couple sat down quickly on one of the free booths after a waitress ushered them towards it, the vampire checked the menu slowly once she ordered her drink. “I already told you I don’t mind eating normal food, in fact I still enjoy the taste of it.” She replied, looking up at him before chuckling softly at his next comment. “Get to work? I think I’ve done enough for a day and even more considering that I don’t even know if I’ll get your help in return, which by the way reminds me that we have to talk about my little problem.” The brunette finished, looking back at the menu since she still didn’t know what she wanted.
The waitress came with their drinks just as she finally decided about what she was going to order to eat. “A burger with lots of french fries please, thank you.” Now she just waited for Dean to order his food and she opened her mouth with one eyebrow raised at the same time once the waitress was long gone. “I don’t know if I should wait for another day or just tell you about my little problem here right now, though I must admit that I don’t like the last idea at all.” She was still keeping her guard up since she didn’t want Klaus to find out that she was in town and obviously plotting against him, if that happened things would get very, very dangerous for the first Petrova doppelganger. “I’ll give you the details once we are back in the motel.”
He listened from the other side of the door as she spoke of some kind of stone that was charmed and protected her from sunlight. He was thankful that most of the vampires he’d previously dealt with had no idea about such a thing or that would make his job that much harder. Tugging his jeans on he recalled seeing the bright blue stone that adorned her neck when they were at the bar a few nights ago, at least that meant she could go out with him during the day. As he finished getting dressed he looked himself over in the mirror before pulling the door open and exiting the bathroom. “Any chance the vamp we’re hunting might have that fancy stone too?” With his suit in hand he walked back into the main room laying the garments across the bed before he sat on it and put his boots back on.
After he finished his green eyes lifted slightly to meet her form perched on one of the chairs across from the bed. He decided to address her earlier comment about dinner. “‘S not a date by the way. I gotta eat and you…well you can just sit there and pretend.” Shrugging his shoulders he stood up glancing around the room for his jacket finding it on the floor he picked it up and pulled it on checking his pockets to make sure he had his wallet, phone, and keys. he was pretty sure that the only place in town to eat at was The Grill and he’d hoped that the vampire had succeeded in making everyone forget the events from a few nights ago, if not well shit happens. His stomach was growling and he couldn’t ignore it much longer. Turning to glance at the brunette over his shoulder he winked while motioning towards the door. “Ready?”
Opening the door once more he shuffled out to his car getting in and starting it up, a few moments later Katherine joined him. “Is there anyplace else t’ eat besides that joint from the other night?” As he waited for an answer Dean pulled out of his space and back onto the road then started driving. As soon as the sun set they’d be able to get a beat on the vampire and for once he was thankful to have one of their kind riding shotgun. He wasn’t entirely too keen on hanging out with her, it wasn’t that her company was horrible it’s just that he was a hunter and this was something that was definitely frowned upon. Nonetheless her skills could prove useful in the long run and that was all he would worry about for right now.
She raised her eyebrows as she heard his question while he left the bathroom. “I really doubt it, I don’t think the vampire knows a witch who’s actually willing to do the spell.” The woman replied as she ran her hand through her hair before placing a few locks of hair over her left shoulder. That small fact about the stone would make thing so much easier since the other vampire wouldn’t be able to go out and kill someone during the day and also would make it easier to find it or at least she thought that it would be easier. “The actions of the newborn vampires are really weird, we’ll just have to pay attention and try to see if someone has a weird behaviour.” As soon as she finished she decided to give him an example “A newborn is usually very nervous when its in or close to a place filled with people.”
Katherine laughed softly at the response he gave her, she wouldn’t mind eating normal food since she still enjoyed the taste of it though it wasn’t really necessary for her to eat a burger or any other kind of food. “I’m hurt, here I thought that you were finally giving in and falling into my charm.” She commented with a smirk plastered on her features, it was obvious that she was being slightly sarcastic. The vampire stood up once he pulled his jacket on, one eyebrow raised a little at his question. “Would you do me a favor? Don’t ask stupid questions.” And without hesitation she smacked his ass once she finished that sentence, following him outside and into his famous Impala once again.
"Yes, there are more places in this town where you can eat good food." She chuckled lightly, knowing why he was asking that question. "You afraid I didn’t compel everyone to forget about what happened there a few nights ago? I feel offended." She joked, giving him a smirk as she did so even though he was focused on the road. The vampire was completely sure that she compelled every person that was in the Grill that night and watched their show to forget about it and keep going like nothing happened there that day, though someone could’ve left the place before she started compelling people. "No, now seriously. There are more places but the Grill is the better place to go in this town, you don’t get many options in this town."
Sure, looking out for the kid. I already told you I’m not going to kill him, that should be enough.
